I was born and raised in Montreal in a Lutheran church-attending family, but studied Biology and then spent almost twenty years working in the travel industry in Toronto before becoming a pastor. I loved my job, and had all the trappings of a happy, comfortable life, but I had a nagging sense there was still something really wrong, something missing. My heart was restless, and I realized God was inviting me to go deeper, to commit my life to serving God and God’s people through ordained ministry. And so, in middle age I found myself back at university at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, completing my Master of Divinity and being ordained in June as a pastor in 2009. I have found such profound joy and fulfillment in this work, guiding our community of faith as we worship, learn and serve God, our neighbours and one another.
In addition to being the pastor here, I am Chris’ wife (34 years and counting), “parent” to two adorable, high-energy dogs, lover of music (especially jazz), former game-show contestant (long story!) and a loyal, enthusiastic (and patient!) Blue Jays fan.
So, that’s me…but I’d really like to learn about YOU. I hope you will reach out and introduce yourself, and join us on our meaning-filled journey of life, learning, love, and service. There is a place for you here!
